Ποτέ μου δε φαντάστηκα ότι ένα burger παντζαριού θα μου άρεσε τόσο πολύ και θα…
Don’t worry, I didn’t cook Nemo. On Saturday I really wanted to eat a burger, a big juicy hamburger. But two independently facts make me changed my mind. First, it was my friend Helen that asked me for a fancy recipe with no meat due to fasting period. And the second fact has to do with my friend Daron, who on Sunday had his birthday (happy birthday Dary!!) and he invited us for armenian barbeque and I didn’t want to eat meat two days in the row. Thus, I kept the idea of burger and changed the ham. Its substitute? Fish fillet!
At the beginning I was a little bit reluctant but the result did not disappoint me. Especially, the sauce. Omg, the sauce was amazing. I have made a tartar sauce with homemade mayonnaise (you can find a very easy recipe by clicking here), cut some vegetables, lettuce, tomato and zucchini and baked the fish fillets for only 15 minutes.
To be more specific I used (for 2 fish fillet burgers):
- 2 fish fillets 100 g. each (you can use perch, salmon, swordfish)
- 4 burger buns
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 tablespoons of tartar sauce (click here for the recipe)
- 1/2 cup. of breadcrumbs
- lettuce or rocket leaves
- 1 tomato
- 1 zucchini
Beat the egg with the mustard and add some salt. Put the fillets in the mixture and then press the breadcrumbs until well covered. Bake the fish fillets in a preheated oven at 200 °C degrees for 15 minutes, turning them upside down only once, meaning after 7-8 minutes after placing them in the oven.
In the same oven pan I have also added some thin slices of zucchini after tossing them with oil, salt and pepper.
Meanwhile, clean and cut lettuce and the tomato. Spread on each burger bun 1 tablespoon of tartar sauce (so sad that it’s over 🙁 ), some lettuce, the fish fillet, tomato, zucchini and….serve!
