Greek donuts

June 17, 2021

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

By hearing the word summer what is the first thing that comes to your mind? I guess it is the sea. Sea and salt water, but also Greek donuts. Greek donuts filled with praline or cream cheese and bacon. Ideal for those who want something savory after a sweet treat, and then again something sweet after the savory. And then a savory treat again. And so on.

I was one of those kids who on the beach was sitting quietly under the umbrella and waiting eagerly for the guy with the tray full of donuts to be seen. When I saw him approaching I was making puppy eyes on my mom. She knew what I wanted. Greek donuts. Then and now. Only now I have my own child and not so much time to run after the guy with the tray. And the truth is that these Greek donuts are effortless. Their mixture is very easy to make, they are crispy on the outside, fluffy inside and ready to fill them with whatever you want. Wanting to satisfy my need for both savory and sweet, I filled half of them with cream cheese and bacon and the rest with hazelnut praline.

GUARANTEED SUCCESS WITH THE EASY BAKE MIXTURE

These Greek donuts will become your favorites. They taste great, they are crisp on the outside, and so fluffy that you will not believe it. All you need is the Easy Bake magic mixture and a little water. The rest has been arranged by them. The package even contains yeast.

The Easy Bake products really stand out for their quality as, among other things (e.g. no pigments), they do not contain palm oil. But why is it important not to have a palm oil product? The use of palm oil in the products has a negative impact on the planet as for years palm oil producers have destroyed huge areas of tropical forests which they have replaced with plantations for palm oil. Thus, aiming at a responsible way of cooking, it is wise to choose products that do not contain palm oil.

So this was my suggestion for one of the most favorite dessert of young and old. Greek donuts filled with hazelnut praline for those who have a sweet teeth, and cream cheese with deep fried bacon for the lovers of savory snacks.
