Pumpkin butter is something like jam made with pumpkin puree, apple juice, brown sugar, cinnamon and various other spices. In other words pumpkin butter is pumpkin puree that has been combined with a variety of other goodies and then simmered and reduced until it becomes creamy.

HOW TO MAKE PUMPKIN PURE

Pumpkin butter can be stored in the refrigerator in a well-sealed jar for up to two weeks. If you want to extend its shelf life then you can freeze it for 3 months.
Pumpkin butter can be consumed in many ways. For instance, you may spread it on a toasted slice of bread, a pancake or a crepe. Also, you may try to add it to your oatmeal. And why not in a savory dish like a salad or even baked potatoes.
Pumpkin butter
Ingredients
- 450 gr pumpkin puree
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ⅓ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients in a small saucepan and mix well.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 30-40 minutes or until thickened. Stir often.
- Taste and adjust the spices up to taste.
