This is not what it looks like.
Today I was craving for something bittersweet. The only things that I had were avocado, oranges, honey and cocoa powder. Things I didn’t have? Time.Believe it or not they were enough. I searched the internet for several recipes. The most of the recipes needed coconut milk, which of course I didn’t have. The recipe I followed had in its ingredients ground chia seeds, which I also didn’t have. Thus, I did not include any. The result was very tasty and light!
- ¾ cup freshly pressed orange juice
- 2 to 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 ripe avocado
- ½ cup raw cocoa powder
- Orange zest and cocoa nibs for topping
I have combined in a blender orange juice, honey, avocado and cocoa powder and blend them until the mixture got smooth and silky — you may need to stop the blender and mix with a spoon from time to time, to help the blending process.
After blending, I divided the mixture among cups and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
At the end, I topped putting with orange zest and some cocoa nibs before gobbling it. I have told you at the beginning, I was craving for something bittersweet.
